The ASNA solution features:

This approach creates true web pages by analyzing display files and RPG application code and creating true web pages that run in a web (or client server) environment such as Microsoft.NET. These use web and application servers just like any other newly developed web application. Their advantage is they are flexible, highly maintainable and use standard technologies and development techniques that can be maintained by any developer.

• The ASNA Monarch™ automated onversion tool migrates from DDS-described record formats to ASP.NET pages. The output is a native browser pages—no screen scraping.
• The logic for these programs is also migrated, with minimal changes to your RPG. Your RPG stays RPG! Your existing programming staff can continue to enhance and maintain your newly polished interactive programs.
• Once migrated, your displays can be extended and enhanced to dramatically improve the user experience they offer.
• Beyond making cosmetic changes, your migrated interactive applications can have substantial functionality added—including such features as connecting them to business partners via Web services and adding powerful integration with desktop applications such as Excel.
• Your database and your existing batch programs stay on your System i. This process lets you leverage the System i for its known strengths, but lets you exploit the power of the Web browser to improve the look and feel, and functionality, of your existing applications.
• The accompanying interactive program logic is also migrated to .NET. This logic can make program calls (with CALL/PARM) to your System i-host batch processes.
